Your First Visit to Contemporary Endodontics

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first visit at Contemporary Endodontics will consist of a consultation with our Endodontic Team where we can explain your diagnosis and discuss treatment options with you. During your first visit, we will discuss your medical history, whether pre-medications are required (sedatives) for your treatment. If you require a complex treatment plan, we will require an evaluation and a second appointment will be required to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip (if not visiting us directly) and any X-rays from your general dentist
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring a copy of your ID card. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

A pre-treatment consultation is mandatory for patients undergoing IV Sedation. Further instructions about the IV Sedation and the corresponding endodontic treatment will be provided to you at that time. Keep in mind that after IV Sedation, you will also need another adult or have arranged alternate transportation in order to drive you home safely.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern before treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)

X-Rays

If your general dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If additional x-rays are necessary, they will be taken at our facility.
