Dr. Shilpa Thakkar, D.D.S.

Dr. Shilpa (Ganatra) Thakkar earned her dental degree from Gujarat University, Gujarat in India. She went on to practice general dentistry for nearly eight years before immigrating to the US with her husband.

Driven by a passion for advanced dental care and research, Dr. Thakkar joined the Department of Endodontics at UT Health San Antonio as a visiting student, where she contributed to multiple research initiatives and published several articles. Her interest in endodontics led her to pursue the Postgraduate Endodontic Program at UT Health San Antonio, where she received extensive training in clinical micro-endodontic techniques, diagnosis, and research. During her time in the program, she continued to publish scholarly work and is currently an external reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics.

Dr. Thakkar is committed to providing the highest standard of contemporary endodontic care, with a strong focus on patient comfort, and a positive chairside experience. She is
an active member of the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Thakkar enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and children.
