Dr. Paul Pumilia was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New Orleans. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry while earning several awards in his studies including the Merck Index Award and the Brazda Award for Outstanding Performance in Dental Biochemistry. He was also a member of the C. Edmund Kells Student Honor Society and finished in the top 10% of his class.
Dr. Pumilia practiced as a general dentist for a few years in Dallas, TX and New Orleans, LA where he acknowledged his growing interest in root canal therapy and decided to pursue specialty training in endodontics. He earned his certificate in endodontics from the University of Nebraska Medical Center School of Dentistry where his research project on working length determination on extracted teeth finished 1st place among the post-graduate departments.
After graduating he relocated to Texas to provide endodontic therapy to the residents of the greater Houston area. Dr. Pumilia is board eligible and is currently pursuing full board certification. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics and the American Dental Association. Dr. Pumilia spends his free time exercising, travelling, enjoying the outdoors, watching movies, and relaxing with his family and friends.
