Dr. Mei Tang grew up in Macau, China. After high school, she moved to the United States and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Davis. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, earning her dental degree with honors. She completed a general practice residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. After moving to Richmond, Virginia, she completed her Endodontic specialty training, earning her Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
During her residency, Dr. Mei Tang spent a significant portion of her time teaching dental students about root canal procedures. In addition, she participated in multiple mission trips to provide root canal treatment for underserved patients both locally in Virginia and abroad in Jamaica. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.
Dr. Mei Tang also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin and finds satisfaction in helping her patients understand root canal procedures.
She recently moved to Houston with her husband. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, tennis, and dancing.
